The Engineering Projects Department continues the construction of a water purification station with a capacity of 500 cubic meters per hour

The Engineering Projects Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continues the construction of a water purification station with a capacity of 500 cubic meters per hour to serve families and visitors near the Maqam of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance).

The resident engineer on the project, Mr. Hussein Muhammad Baqir, said: "The department's teams continue the construction of a water purification and desalination station behind the Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) Maqam to provide drinking water for the visitors of the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), in addition to serving the local residents."

He added that the project's capacity is 500 cubic meters per hour, and it is part of the plan to develop the old city implemented by the holy shrine, aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and improving the service reality in the city.

He added that "the station will contribute to providing fresh water sources after removing salts, impurities, and others, ensuring improved water quality and reducing the scarcity of its source."

This project comes within the framework of the service-oriented approach adopted by the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, and its continuous efforts to develop the infrastructure within the old city, keeping pace with the growing number of visitors, especially during the million-visitor seasons.
